Der zuckerfreie Kaugummi leistet einen nachgewiesenen Beitrag zur Zahngesundheit: Das regelmäßige Kauen nach dem Essen und Trinken, zusätzlich zum regelmäßigen Zähneputzen, kann helfen, Plaquesäuren zu neutralisieren. In der Zahnmedizin wird daher das Kauen von zuckerfreiem Kaugummi zur Zahnpflege wie EXTRA® zur Ergänzung der täglichen Zahnpflege empfohlen: Nach dem Essen und Trinken mindestens 20 Minuten kauen.
